Oil, Gas and War (OGW) have been dominating the discourse like never before and every country around the world is saving midnight oil to conserve enough fuel for another day. Some have been advised to burn kerosene, gobar and other materials to keep body and soul together.In the not-too-distant past, some gobar experts had painted a picture as if it was the go-to-bar for both body and soul. Startlingly, such experts are missing in these times.In better times, gasbaazi was the most popular sport, but no technology was available in those days to mine this form of gas. And when war has impacted natural gas supply, even gasbaazi has hit a rough patch. It may be that specialists in gasbaazi are busy making arrangements for cooking gas with full consciousness that a growling stomach cannot be silenced by empty talk.The focus on gas raises a natural question — which is more precious, cooking gas or bullion? As a matter of urgency, gas is much more valuable than gold, silver or platinum. But the irony is no amount of precious metals or even American dollars can guarantee an uninterrupted gas supply. Just a short time ago, world powers were hankering for supply of critical minerals but now all the energy is spent on OGW.In India, particularly in Kashmir, Over Ground Workers providing non-combatant support to extremist groups are referred to as OGW. At this point, one is compelled to contemplate what Trump wanted to achieve by attacking Iran. Was it by any means aimed at giving a lifeline to his Russian friend? Indeed, Russia has received a significant gift from the Americans and, surprisingly, Ukraine appears to have no complaints about it either. Who knows it better than the aggressor(s)!
