Domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices in New Delhi currently stand at Rs 913.00 for a 14.2 kg cylinder. The latest rate reflects an increase compared with last month’s price of Rs 853.00.Over the past year, LPG prices have shown a steady upward trend, with an overall increase of Rs 60 between April 2025 and March 2026. The most notable change occurred in March 2026, when the price rose by Rs 60.The revised LPG rates apply to standard domestic cylinders used for household cooking purposes across India.Domestic LPG cylinder prices vary across different metropolitan cities, though the latest rates have remained unchanged since the most recent revision.Current LPG price for a 14.2 kg cylinder in major cities includes:These prices are applicable to domestic LPG cylinders supplied to households for cooking.Several other cities across the country are witnessing similar LPG price levels, with no fresh change recorded in the latest update.Latest LPG cylinder prices in select cities:Among these cities, Hyderabad currently records the highest LPG price, while Chandigarh has one of the lowest LPG cylinder rates.The government has confirmed that commercial LPG cylinder distribution has resumed for several industries across different states.According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, commercial LPG supplies are being provided directly to industries to support business operations.Officials said the move aims to ensure that restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments dependent on LPG can continue their operations without disruption.Authorities have reassured consumers that there is no shortage of LPG supply in India, even as geopolitical tensions continue in parts of the Middle East.Officials stated that LPG bookings have increased slightly in recent days, but the government is closely monitoring the supply chain to maintain steady availability of domestic and commercial cylinders.Consumers have also been advised not to panic book LPG cylinders, as sufficient stocks are available at distribution centres.Two LPG carriers transporting fuel have already safely crossed the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime routes for oil and gas shipments.Reports indicate that Iran has granted safe passage to Indian-flagged LPG tankers, allowing them to transit through the region despite ongoing geopolitical tensions.Currently, around 28 Indian vessels are operating in the Persian Gulf region, with authorities monitoring their movement to ensure safety.The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has strengthened monitoring of LPG and oil shipments moving through sensitive maritime routes in the Gulf region.The Strait of Hormuz handles nearly 20 per cent of global oil and gas exports, making the security of this route crucial for LPG imports and energy supply to India.Inputs from agencies
